|Demadonna's represented Muktar Edris and Agnes Tirop are the big winners of Boclassic Silvesterlauf - Bolzano|
Ethiopia's Muktar Edris, bronze medal winner at the world-cross championship and former U20 world champions over 5,000 meters won the men's 42nd edition of Bozner's new year's eve round BOclassic, leading an all Dematonna Athletic Promotions' Podium.
Muktar Edris won the 10 kilometers run in 28'52" crossing the line ahead of his countryman, the former world-cross champion and three-time BOclassic winner Imane Merga second in 28'54", just two seconds away.
After an initial controlled speed for the most part of the race, Edris and Merga as well as the two Kenyans, Jairus Birech and Thomas Longoiswa, were the only four runners remaining in contention for victory. However, towards the final stages of the race Edris seemed to have something more than the rest, so he unleashed his victorious kick within 300 meters to finish.
To complete all DAP's men's podium, Birech Jairus Kipchoge of kenya was third in 28'57".
The Women's 5- Kilometers run was also dominated by African athletes with Demadonna's represented Agnes Tirop, reigning world-cross champion, winning in 15'44" on her first appearance in Bolzano.
Tirop's time was the second fastest time in the history since BOclassic has been hosting this race. In second place five seconds behind was Gezer Burka, while Ethiopia's Etenesh Diro, also represented by Demadonna Athletic Promotions finished third in 16'18".
