Demadonna’s Muktar Edris takes the second victory at the 60th edition of Campaccio on Friday, January 6


muktar campaccioSan Giorgio Su Legnano – it was held today the 60th edition of Campaccio Cross Country race for both men and women.

The men's race was attended by the world's best specialists of cross country running, among them was Ethiopian’s Muktar Edris who crossed the finish line of the 10 kilometers first in 28'54, to lead a podium of all Demadonna’s represented athletes.

Muckat has already been victorious in Campaccio on the 2013th edition, and he did it again today outsprinting non other than Imane Merga, the cross world champion in 2011 and winner of Campaccio last year. Merga finished just one second behind Edris in 28'55". In third place representing the colors of Kenya, Jairus Birech who crossed the line in 28'59".

“Am very happy. Winning here is always a great satisfaction and I had to give my best to win the sprint. Now I will return to Ethiopia to try to enter the national team for the World Cross Country Championships." Said Muktar Edris at the end of the race.

In the women’s race our Tirop Agnes Jebet was third in 29'48", in an spectacular women’s race where Kenyan’s Hellen Obiri had to run a new course record to secure the victory.
