Triumph for Demadonna's represented athletes at the men's Hamburg Marathon, Germany and women's ING Bank Enschede Marathon, Nederland on Sunday 23

 

mekonnen hamburgDemadonna Asefa Tsegaye Mekonnen of Ethiopia and Lempus Betty Wilson of Kenya took top honours running 2h07'26" and 2h29'31" in the men's and women's marathon respectively at the Hamburg Marathon, Germany and ING Bank Enschede Marathon, Nederland.

In a tight men’s finish race at the Hamburg Marathon, Ethiopia’s Asefa Tsegaye Mekonnen cruises in 2h07'26" to take the victory against 2012 Olympic Marathon Champion Stephen Kiprotich of Uganda, second in 2h07'31" in a difficult weather conditions with strong wind, rain and even hail. “I never doubted I would win another marathon. My problems were injuries over the past few years but I never doubted that I would win again one day,” reflected Tsegaye Mekonnen at the end of the race. Kenya’s Jacob Kendagor finished third in 2h08'50".

 

lempus enschedeIn the women's race this time at the ING Bank Enschede Marathon - Netherland, Demadonna's Lempus Betty Wilson Cloaks 2h29'31" to win the 49th edition of the Enschede Marathon. She did so on her first marathon debut on Suday 23 April.

Lempus preceded her Kenyan compatriot Agnes Mutune, runner up in 2h33'21".  Rose Maru completed an all Kenyan sweep by reaching the finish line in 2h35'05".
