Demadonna’s Mary Keitany (Kenya) wins her second NYRR New York Mini 10K on Saturday

 

keitany nycNew York, June 10, 2017—Three-time defending TCS New York City Marathon champion, Mary Keitany of Kenya, took her second victory in as many appearances at the NYRR New York Mini 10K on Saturday in Central Park, finishing the race in a blistering time of 31’20”.

This year’s race began on Central Park West at 61st Street and finished at 67th Street on West Drive. The 35-year-old Keitany crossed the finish line more than 48 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Ethiopia’s Mamitu Daska finished second in 32’09”, while Aliphine Tuliamuk, Kenyan-born who obtained her U.S. citizenship in 2016 rounded out the top three clocking in at 32’14” at the finish.

 

Results of Hengelo Ethiopian Trials

Meanwhile and always on June 10 there were staged in Hengelo - Nederland the Ethiopian Trials with Demadonna’s represented athletes, Fete Aman Tola and Bekuma Taresa Tolosa obtaining a valid qualification for the London 2017 World Championships, by finishing second and third places in the men’s 1500 meters with a time of 3’33’’88 and 3’34’’47 respectively.
