Demadonna's Muktar Edriss and Aman Wote from Ethiopia win the men's 5000 and 1500 meters in Lausanne on Thursday 06

 

edris lausanneAnother world leading performance for DAP's represented Muktar Edris at the Athletissima IAAF Diamond league meeting in Lausanne where he won an entertaining men's 5000 meters race in 12'55"53.

Throughout the fourth kilometer the pace indicated a time under 13 minutes and with two laps to go, Edris was third behind Cheptegei and Selemon Barega. Before the bell Edris took the lead and tried to shake off the 17-year-old Barega over a frantic final lap.

Edris proved to have enough in the tank to hold on home in front stopping the cloak in 12'55"53. Barega was second in 12'55"58.

 

woteIn the men's 1500 meters our Wote Aman of Ethiopia conquered the victory in a personal best of 3'32"20, followed by Kenya's Simotwo Charles Cheboi second in 3'32"59. In third place, also represented by Demadonna Athletic Promotions, Kiplagat Silas of Kenya in a time of 3'32"96.
