Demadonna’s Caroline Kipkirui, Kenya, cruises in a personal best of 14’27’’55 to take second in the women’s 5000m in Brussels on Friday, 01

 

caroline brusselsAnother compelling middle distance spectacle producing fireworks at the second IAAF Diamond League final of the season was the women’s 5000 meters, with our Caroline Kipkirui fighting a huge battle with her compatriot Hellen Obiri, word champion at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London.

At the end Obiri would prevail over the final sprint and cross the finish line first in 14’25”88. Kipkirui had to settle for second position despite clocking a personal best of 14’27”55. Third place for Senbere Teferi of Ethiopia, who recorded a time of 14’32”03.
