DAP's Muktar Edris of Ethiopia claims the victory for the third consecutive year at the Trento Giro al Sas on Saturday 30th

 

edris giroLondon 5,000 meters World Champion, Muktar Edris from Ethiopia respected the bets by winning the giro al Sas in Trento for the third time in his career, a popular international 10km race this year on its 71st edition. The Giro al Sas is the highlight of a weekend event that includes the Trentino Running Festival.

Edris confirmed the law of the strongest controlling the race with great personality and manage to take the best outsprinting his compatriot Telahun Haile in the final stages of the race and cross the finish line fist located at Piazza del Duomo in 28'54 ".

In his previous appearances at the Giro al Sas, the Ethiopian champion had collected two successes in 2014 and 2015 and a third in 2016. This year's triumph in Trento city crowns a splendid season in which he won the gold medal in the 5000 meters in London ahead of Mo Farah and second place in the finals of the Diamond League in Zurich.

Second and third places for Ethiopians Telahun Haile and Yasin Haji with a time of 28'55 and 29'13 respectively and both represented by Demadonna Athletic Promotions.

Great race for another DAP athlete as well as local champion Yeman Crippa, who tried this best o keep up with Edris, Haile and world champion under 20 of cross Yasin Haji until mid-race, but in the end he had to settle for a fourth place in 29'20.
