Demadonna's Telahun Haile Bekele, Ethiopia and Jeruto Norah Tanui, Kenya took the highest honors at the Vallagarina Cross Country 2018 on Sunday, 21

bekele vallagarinaVilla Lagarina - Ethiopia and Kenya took the most important podium position at the 41st International Cross of Vallagarina, known as cross country race Quercia Trentingrana. Ethiopia's Telahun Haile Bekele won the men's race crossing the finish line in 26’58’’, while Kenyan's Jeruto Norah Tanui took the women's victory in 21’05’’.

The men's race started with a group of six runners in command. After two laps Bekele makes the first move that breaks the group into two. With him remain the other Ethiopian Yasin Haji and the Ugandan Albert Chemutai. Within two laps to the finish Bekele makes the second move and at this poit the victory becomes a question between Bekele and Chemutai, but on the most challenging climb, Bekele seems to have an extra gear and cruises solitary towards the victory.

 

tanui vallagarinaThe women's race starts with two Italians, Nadia Battocletti and Martina Merlo in lead, but after the first kilometer, Kenya's Jeruto Norah Tanui took charge of the race and from this point on she made it clear that not only she had intentions to win but also to run fast time. Tanui would reach the finish line almost a minute away from the runner up.
