DAP's Mary Keitany of Kenya claims second position at the RAK Half Marathon despite cruising in a personal best of 1h04'55"

rak 2018The much expected clash between Joyciline Jepkosgei and Mary Keitany did not materialise as Jepkosgei dropped away from victory battle shortly after half way. But despite that, Keitany still was in company of a very serious opposition; that is Fancy Chemutai who outsprinted Keitany in the final 100 metres to cross the finish line first in 1h04'52".

The consolation for London Marathon-bound Mary Keitany was yet another personal best of 1h04'55".

"I'm so happy today for my personal best but to lose in the last 50m it was not the best.In any case today my performance told me that I'm on the right training for the biggest challenge of my athletics life - The Virgin Money London Marathon" Said Keitany at the end of the race.

In third place also running in a personal with best of 1h05'07" was Kenya's Caroline Kipkirui, Also represented by Demadonna Athletic Promotions.

Last but not least, our Alex Kibet of Kenya claimed third position in the men's race, crossing the finish line with a personal best of 59’06’’. The race winner was Kenya's Bedan Karoki in a time of 58'42" at the tape.
