DAP's Sule Gedo from Ethiopa is the 2018 Los Angeles Marathon elite women champion crossing the finish line in 2h33’50’’ on Sunday 18

gedo losangelesLOS ANGELES - Demadonna's Sule Utura Gedo of Ethiopia is the big winner at the 2018 women's Los Angeles Marathon in a time of 2h33'50", sprinting the in the last kilometers to the finish thus breaking out the leading pack. At this point only countrywoman Tsehay Desalegn and defending-champion Hellen Jepkurgat of Kenya remained on the fight for the victory. At the finish Desalegn had to settle for a runner up position 8 seconds behind Gedo, while Jepkurgat was 13 seconds back in third place.

In the men's race our Adihana Gebretsadik Abraha of Ethiopia finished second with a time of 2h11’57’’, behind Weldon Kirui of Kenya, first in 2h11'48". Elisha Barno of Kenya was third in 2h12'14".

 

SEOUL - Always on Sunday 18, this time at the Seoul Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race, our Margaret Agai of Kenya crossed the finish line in a time of 2h24’30’’ to take second place in the women's race. She trailed Ethiopia's Damte Hiru first in 2h24'08", while Kenya's Monica Jepkoech finished third in 2h24'31".

In the men's race Demadonna's represented Mark Korir and Benson Kipruto both from Kenya claimed second and third position with a time of 2h07’02’’ and 2h07’11" respectively. The race was won by their compatriot Wilson Erupe Loyanae.

 

CHIEF,  Saturday 17 - African Cross Country Championship (Women's 10 kilometers)

DAP's Kipkemboi Margaret Chelimo of Kenya cloaks 35’14’’ to take silver in the 10 kilometers senior women's race at the African Cross Country Championship in the Algerian city of Chlef on Saturday 17. She reached the tape behind compatriot Celliphine Chespol winner in a time of 35'10".

Ethiopia's Yeshi Kalayu claimed the last podium place in 35'26"
