Demadonna's Jake Robertson of New Zealand wins by nearly a minute at the Peoples Beach to Beacon on Saturday 4th

Jake Robertson won the Beach to Beacon 10K wire-to-wire in a time of 27'37" on Saturday morning August 4th.

Robertson’s performance in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, was just nine seconds shy of the 27'28", course record.

Robertson made his presence felt from the start up leading the competition through the first two miles in a split time of 8'402. He maintained the momentum reaching 5K mark in a time of 13'30" and continuing all the way through the finish, to beat runner-up Stephen Sambu of Kenya who finished in 28'37", almost full minute behind. Ben True, Maine native finished third overall in a time of 28'29".

Jake Robertson who trains in Kenya has already run a series of breakthrough performances this year. In January, he won the Houston Half Marathon in a personal best of 60'01". In March he made his marathon debut in Japan with a time of 2h08'26", another New Zealand national record.
