Second and third place for DAP’s Silas Kiplagat and Sum Eunice Jepkoech at the 2017 IAAF Diamond League first meeting in Doha


kiplagat dohaDemadonna’s represented Silas Kiplagat and Sum Eunice Jepkoech both from Kenya came second and third in the men’s 1500m and the women’s 800m respectively at the 2017 IAAF Diamond League season’s kick off in Doha on Friday 05.

In the Men’s 1500m, the race was dominated by the Kenyans capable of claiming the top five places. Our Silas Kiplagat settled for a runner up position with a season best of 3’32”23 behind Elijah Mannangoi first in 3’31”90. Bethwell Birgen completed the podium in third place with a time of 3’32”27.


sum dohaIn the women’s 800m Rio’s medalists were not intimidated by the debut of 1500m world record holder Genzebe Dibaba. Olympic champion South Africa’s Caster Semenya dominated the race cruising in 1’56”61, new meet record and world lead for 2017, leaving behind Kenya’s Margaret Wambui runner up in 1’57”03.

Demadonna’s and former world champion Eunice Sum of Kenya had to settle for a third place in 1’58”76.
