First, second and third for Demadonna's represented athletes at the 2019 Huawei RomaOstia half-marathon on Sunday March, 10

maschi ostia2019There were no surprises in the men's race at the 45th edition of Huawei RomaOstia, a gold lable IAAF race, as pre-race favorite the Ethiopian Guye Adola reached the finish line in a comfortable first place.

The fist stages of the race was very tactical with the African athletes suddenly setting the pace. Towards the last kilometer however, it would be Ethiopia's Guye Adola to confirm day before predictions pulling away from the pack to cross the finish line first in 60'17", ahead of Kenyan's duo Geoffrey Yegon, second in 60’23’’ and Cornelius Kangogo who completed an all DAP's podium in 61'07".

At the ende of the race, Adola happy for the victory said:"Today we started very strong and I tried to stay alongside the Kenyans. At 3 km to the finish I launched a sprint which allowed me to cross the finish line in first place. I'm happy for my second victory in RomaOstia. The first one was in 2017".

In the women's race, second place for our Kipyokei Diana of Kenya in a time of 67’13’’. She finished behind Chemtai Lonah Salpeter from Israel who finished first in 66'40".
