DAP's Caroline Kipkirui of Kenya dominates the women's race at the 2019 Prague Half Marathon to finish first in 65’45’’ on Saturday April 6

 

caroline chepkoech pragueKenya's Caroline Kipkirui clocked 1h05'44" to take the victory in the women's race at the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race, on Saturday, 6. She reached the tape nearly half a minute ahead of Lonah Salpeter of Israel, second in 1h06'09", with Lydia Mathathi in a distant third with a time of 1h07'52".

The three ran together until they reached ten kilometres. Kipkirui then took the lead and was never threatened. "I am happy to be able to improve my performance here. I really did the best I was able to do today, athough I ran almost the whole race by myself, it was not easy, but I am glad that I could do it." said Kipkirui.

In the men's race, second place for our Kibitok Felix of Kenya with a personal best of 59’08’’, just one second behind his compatriot, and defending champion Benard Kimeli who clocked 59'07".

At the at the Vodafone Istanbul Half Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race, which took place on Sunday, 7, Demadonna's Dorcas Jepchirchir Tuitoek of Kenya claimed sencond in the women's race when setting a new personal best of 66’33’’. She trailed her compatriot Ruth Chepngetich who clocked 65'30" for a new course record.
