DAP's Telahun Haile Bekele of Ethiopia again runs under 13' to take the victory at the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Hengelo on Sunday 9


tehahum hangeloAfter winning the men's 5000 meters at the Golden Gala in Rome in a personal best and world-leading time of 12'52"98 three days ago, Demadonna's represented Telahun Haile Bekele of Ethiopia runs another sub 13 minutes to take the victory at the IWC Fanny Blankers-Koen Games, an IAAF World Challenge meeting in Hengelo.

Bekele was pushed all the way in the men’s 5000 meters by Nicholas Kipkorir Kimeli of Kenya, but in the final stages of the race he did just enough to hold off back the Kenyan and cross the finish line first in 12'57"56 with Kimeli close behind in a time of 12'57"90.


margaret hengeloIn the women's 5000 meters first place also for Demadonna's Kipkemboi Margaret Chelimo of Kenya with a time of 14'37"22.

The women's race started out with lead group formed by four women – Hassan, Kipkemboi, Eva Cherono and Hawi Feysa pulling away in the second half of the race. Cherono led for much of the final kilometre but was passed by the three other women in the lead pack as they reached the final lap.

Hassan took a temporary leed, but couldn’t shake off the challenge of Kipkemboi and Feysa. With 100 meters left, Kipkemboi passed her and went on to win in a world-leading time of 14'37"22. Hassan finished second in 14'38"54 just 0.22 ahead of Feysa.


Always on Sunday June 09th this time at the Leichtathletik-Sportfest Rehlingen Meeting 2019, Germany - first and second position in the women's 3000 meters steeplechase for DAP's represented Tanui Norah and Jepkemei Daisy both from Kenya in a time of 9'12"99 and 9'15"03 respectively.
