Demadonna's Kibiwott Kandie from Kenya were wins the 2020 Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon on Friday, 21 February

 

Known as the world’s fastest half marathon, the 14th edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon attracted over 5,200 runners from diverse nations.

Kenya's and Demadpnna's reprresented Kibiwott Kandie claimed victory inthe men's race beating his personal best by 34 seconds with a time of 58'58". Second place went to Alexander Mutiso of Kenya, with a time of 59'16", followed 31 seconds later by Ethiopia’s Mule Wasihun with a time of 59'47.

“I trained very hard ahead for this race and so I am not a surprised by my time. I knew that I could run under 59 minutes but the victory is very sweet. Althoug I began to feel the effect of the warm weather at 16KM, I was still able to run a sub-14 minute final split.” Said Kandie at the end of the race.
