Demadonna's Evans Chebet of Kenya defeats the rain and strong wind to win the 75th Lake Biwa Marathon in Japan


The 75th edition of Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon held in Japan was run in cold, rainy and windy conditions in Lake Biwa. The race started with the pace makers trailing a group of 50 runner in a moderated pace, After 20 kilometers only a group of few runners, including Japan's police officer Madoka Tanihara, a high level trio composed byf Evans Chebet, Felix Kiprotich and South African Stephen Mokoka remained in contaition.

At the 35 kilometers mark Chebet changed the gear and broke away from the the leading field, running unchallenged in the rain arriving at the stadium to cut the tape in 2h07'29". Mokoka was second in 2h08'05". Felix Kiprotich completed the podium in third place in 2h08'48".

At the Nagoya Marathon third place for our Purity Rionoripo with the time of 2h22'56",
