Demadonna's Yeman Crippa of Italy takes top honors in Ostrava: 13'02"26 for Italian record in the 5,000 meters after 30 years

 

Yeman Crippa makes the history into Italian athletics. Legendary evening for the 23 year old Trentino born in Ethiopia in Ostrava: after 30 years he smashes the Italian record in the 5000 meters.

Crippa covered the distance in 13'02"26 improving the old Italian record of 13'05"59 held by Totò Antibo since 1990. This record was in the air, and strongly desired by the talented athlete of the Fiamme Oro.

Crippa finished third at the Golden Spike on Tuesday, 08 behind the Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo, first in 12'48"63 and the Ethiopian Selemon Barega, second in 12'49"08, after having run a perfect and courageous race in pursuit of the best.
