tirop doha2020Doha meeting has always been a magical place for middle distance runners and this year it followed the same trend producing excellent results in the sixth last leg of the 2020 Wanda Diamond League unfortunately halved by the pandemic.

Great performance for our Agnes Tirop and Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi in the women's 3000 meters. Tirop cruised in a personal best of 8’22”92 to take second in the race won by her compatriot Hellen Obiri, who just a year ago won the second world gold in the 5000 meters.

Obiri cloaked the best world performance of the year crossing the finish line in 8'22”54, approaching the African record she set at the Qatar's Sports Club track of Doha's edition in 2014.

Our Margaret Chelimo (silver at the Doha World Championships) finished fourth in 8'24"76, also her personal best, she was preceded by Beatrice Chepkoech in third place.
